Client Manager Job Description

Offices: Houston, Dallas, Fort Worth, San Antonio
Departments: Land Development, Public Works, Transportation

The Client Manager reports to an Officer(s) of the company. The Client Manager has ultimate responsibility for both the quality and effective execution of project assignments.

A Client Manager should be a thought leader in the marketplace in terms of serving on public boards and commissions, leadership positions within industry organizations, and public speaking and writing engagements. This position should require a Professional Engineering license (or similar in the case of non-engineering disciplines).

The client manager is responsible for generating the project workload necessary to support a project team independent of the work generated by the other Client Managers and firm Officers.

 

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering
  • Eight years of experience post graduation

Skills and Special Requirements/ Licensing:

  • Registered Professional Engineer license required



Project Manager Job Description

Offices: Austin, Fort Worth, Houston, San Antonio
Departments: Land Development and Public Works

Position has responsibility for management and preparation and coordination and of all technical activities on assigned project. Plans, schedules, conducts, and coordinates assigned engineering work; monitors work for compliance to applicable codes, accepted engineering practices and standards; ensures effective communication and coordination on assigned projects between all disciplines and all other project consultants.

Responsible and accountable to ensure that all assigned personnel are coordinating their activities with other project consultants and team members and that the requirements of the Contract are being satisfied. Expected to have significant technical knowledge and awareness to be able to recognize when technical problems are developing and to initiate appropriate corrective actions.

While on project, the Project Manager reports to a Client Manager or Principal of the firm, who has ultimate responsibility for both the quality and effective execution of project assignments.

The Project Manager is the main point of contract in the day-to-day interaction with the Client’s designated representative, jurisdictional agency personnel as well as coordination of all internal activities performed by engineering staff.

Typical duties will include but not limited to the preparation of the following:

  • Project schedules and forecasts
  • Oversight and engineering assistance of the preparation of plans and reports for project design elements including grading, drainage, utilities, roadways.
  • Coordination and checking of engineering deliverables (QA&QC)
  • Weekly project status reports to clients
  • Other duties as directed by the Client Manager or Principal

Responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:

  • Responsible for planning, scheduling, conducting and coordinating the technical aspects of projects
  • Accountable for the successful completion of engineering projects
  • Assist in the preparation of engineering project proposals
  • Budget monitoring and trend tracking
  • Participating in Client/Contractor meetings and resolving technical project issues
  • Ensure effective engineering and Client communications

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering
  • Five years of experience post graduation

Project Designer Position

Offices: Austin, Houston, San Antonio
Departments: Land Development and Public Works

This position is responsible for providing design support to the project management staff for residential land development projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Work from architectural site plans or land planning documents to produce construction documents in AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013
  • Understand and use established company standards for drafting including layer names, line and character styles, drawings and window names, and file names for sheet layout
  • Be proficient in preparing plan and profile drawings using Civil 3D
  • Analyze sketches, notes and other input material to determine and plan the best approach to develop and complete drawings with minimal supervision
  • Inform Project Manager(s) and Client Managers of progress on assigned projects and communicate design concerns with project managers
  • Flexible in work assignments and team assignments

Qualifications:
  • Associates Degree or Diploma in Computer-Aided Drafting and Design from an accredited institution of higher education
  • 3 or more years experience using AutoCAD 3D for civil design site work
  • Extremely proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D; candidates without Civil 3D experience will not be considered
  • Effective communications skills with all level of employees within an organization, both oral and written skills
  • Effective interpersonal skills with all level of employees within an organization as well as clients and public agency officials
  • Self-starter
  • Ability to work interdependently within a team environment
  • Must be flexible to changes in work assignments on short notice and/or on a daily basis as changes occur in project needs
